Throwback Thursday

Back when I was enrolled in the Westlawn Institute yacht design program, I began thinking about how cool it would be to design and build a trimaran superyacht. The concept was appealing to me because of how easily driven they would be, how stable they would be, etc. So I did some doodling. I didn’t date these sketches but it was probably 2001 or so. I also thought: too radical. Nobody’s going to build something like this. In retrospect, maybe I should have kept going, because I was wrong! There are some really spectacular trimaran yachts out there these days, and surely more to follow.
