You Can’t Make This Stuff Up

So here is the latest bonehead “accident” that I’ve read about.  Accident is too kind a term, really.  So a guy takes delivery of a very nice Contender 37’ center console boat and promptly runs aground, emphatically.  He planted his fine GPS equipped vessel 200 feet up the shore on a marshy piece of (charted) land after making contact with it somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 mph.  According to the Sea Tow rep, “He said he wasn’t paying attention.”  Really?

Fortunately, nobody was injured in what could just have easily been a tragedy.  If you’re not paying enough attention to avoid running aground, there there’s no reason why you might just as well as slammed into another vessel instead.

Here’s the story from our friends at Soundings
