The New Year

We had our United Yacht Sales annual meeting yesterday in Stuart FL, with brokers from all over the country coming in to meet, socialize, and get updates from our company leadership. As usual this affair was well attended and it’s always a shot in the arm to gather with a bunch of like minded brokers and talk boats. For us in the mid-Atlantic region the mid Winter session also let us escape the cold for a few days in FL; a welcome respite.

The meeting gives us a look back at the previous year and to gaze into the crystal ball into 2016. There’s lots of uncertainty and angst in the world these days which has people on edge. But I know this – boats and boating in all of its forms provide the best leisure activity that exists. Sure, I’m biased, but I passionately believe it. In good times and bad, the water provides an unmatched way to unwind, de-stress, and recharge. And that’s why I’m optimistic that 2016 will be a good year for us. Maybe the numbers won’t break any records, but over the course of the year we’ll put people in the right boat at the right time and in so doing enrich their lives. And that’s priceless.
